The museum is an independent charity and relies on kind donations from members of the public. The museum runs a Pay If and What You Can admissions system. We encourage visitors to contribute whichever amount they feel able. All proceeds go to the museum’s vision to provide inspirational experience and opportunities for people to engage with their unique heritage and human stories, past and present. Please be aware, that some activities and events will have a separate charge.
Our shop has a great selection of books, gifts, cards and souvenirs inspired by the museum’s collection and history of the local district on offer for all ages and price ranges. Keep an eye out for new merchandise related to changing displays or temporary exhibitions.
There is a beautiful garden, lovingly cared for by a team of volunteers, which features a mosaic commemorating our National Lottery Heritage Fund redevelopment in 2016.
The museum is fully wheelchair accessible with step free access. Baby changing facilities are located within the ground floor toilets.
Epping Forest District Museum Trust is committed to providing access to all. Where it is not possible to make a visit, please call the museum on 01992 716882 to find out more about available digital and outreach resources.
The museum welcomes assistance dogs and water can be provided if required.
